Three women, three different bodies, one remarkably persistent uniform.

THE UNIFORM observes the moment when fashion is no longer a personal choice and becomes a social code. Repeated silhouettes, poses and almost interchangeable gym shorts move across very different bodies, while individuality begins to dissolve beneath the visual language of what is current, desirable and promoted.

Fashion, marketing and promotion can become so persuasive that one question never seems to cross even the most beautiful mind on the journey to becoming her: does this actually suit me?

The figures emerge from and dissolve into a saturated pink environment, shifting between individual bodies and repetitions of the same cultural image. What initially appears playful gradually becomes an observation of conformity, aspiration and the subtle pressure to participate.

As part of FASHION. NOTHING PERSONAL., the work looks at clothing not simply as personal style, but as a visual system powerful enough to make difference dress itself alike.
