SELF-SUFFICIENT PERSON

SELF-SUFFICIENT PERSON is a figurative sculpture exploring the performance of independence and the peculiar confidence with which people construct an image of themselves.

Through exaggerated form, posture and expression, the work turns an ordinary human attitude into something simultaneously comic and psychologically revealing. The figure appears entirely secure in its own self-sufficiency, while its physical presence introduces a subtle tension between confidence, vulnerability and absurdity.

Part of the EXISTENTIAL OBSERVATIONS series, the sculpture continues Margarita Ceko’s exploration of human behaviour, identity, social roles and the contradictions hidden within everyday life.
